Virtual Assistants Should Get Into Social Networking

I recently re-established communication with a virtual assistant that I subcontract for in Canada. After discussing tasks through email, she asked how am I doing with my social media and if I know anyone who’s good at social networking, SEO and Internet marketing.  I wasn’t able to recommend anyone who’d fall within her budget and I dare not take a stab at it because I’m merely a novice in SEO.

But her e-mail got me thinking that maybe I should indeed be seriously engaged in social networking. Working with Internet marketers in the last 2 years or so allowed me to witness the benefits of utilizing social media to improve your web site’s  traffic and growing your business. Personally, I’m only in Facebook, Twitter, and Plurk to connect with my friends.  I visit them daily but I only update my status in Facebook once or twice a day. Most of the time I’m in Plurk or in Ulayaw. Maybe if I become more engage in social networking, my blogs could get better traffic and and page ranking. Who knows maybe I’ll even get more business my way.

Thus, I really want to be part of Social Networking and eBusiness Conference Philippines 2010 that’s happening this April. I may not become a social media guru after the event, but I am sure that I will grasp the basic concepts that will enable me to offer such services to my clients. That means more money for me. I might even earn enough to finally afford the money it would take to become a member of the DigitalFilipino Club. Moreover, I might finally learn the techniques to getting more visitors to this blog and get the chance to become accepted in paid blogging services like Blog4Reviews.

P.S. I’m crossing my fingers to get that free pass to the 3rd Social Networking Conference!!! (Stay positive!)
