JobSpooler Makes Outsourcing Easy!

Late last year, I applied for a data entry job that I found through Craiglist. The employer informed me that she received a lot of applications and that she will have to go through all of them to find the perfect virtual assistant.

A few days later, I followed up with her through email and she informed me that she decided not to hire a single virtual assistant. Rather, she invited me to join JobSpooler and do the jobs from there. I did so immediately and I must say that my first impression of it was good.

JobSpooler is an outsourcing platform similar to Amazon’s Mechanical Turk. Here, a job wrangler (employer) uploads a project or task that is for anyone’s taking. The main difference from other outsourcing platforms is that a job can be broken down into multiple threads. A spoolsmith (freelancer) is given information about the job and the thread and decides whether to she’ll take a particular thread. She must complete the thread within the time limit set by the job wrangler. Once done, she can submit the results of her task for the job wrangler’s approval. If the job wrangler approves the job, the spoolsmith’s account will be credited. If the job is rejected, the spoolsmith doesn’t get paid. Thus, it is a MUST that a spoolsmith read and understand the requirements of a particular thread.

Spoolsmiths in the United States will be paid through Moneybookers, while those outside the U.S. will be paid through Paypal. A spoolsmith’s got to have more than $4.00 in her account to be able to withdraw the money into her Moneybooker or Paypal account. The spoolsmith will be notified by email from the Jobspooler admin that her request for payment has been approved by the admin. Here’s mine:

What I like JobSpooler is that it’s very easy to use. The spoolsmith’s dashboard is easy to navigate and browsing jobs is as breeze. The simplicity of the whole system is refreshing — there’s no bidding, no certifications to go through, and no haggling over fees. JobSpooler is outsourcing made easy!

Unfortunately, the kind of jobs that can be wrangled at JobSpooler is limited to those that can be done primarily over the Internet. A spoolsmith must be able to prove the result of her work by  uploading a file, text, photo or sending a link to the job wrangler. Here’s a list of several jobs that can be outsourced in Jobspooler:

  1. Transcription
  2. Internet research
  3. Article writing
  4. Forum posting
  5. Blogging
  6. Social media account creation
  7. Data entry

JobSpooler is a must-try outsourcing platform for freelancers, work-at-home moms, virtual assistants and other online workers. It is a legit job site for online workers! See you there!

Look at what’ s listed– if you see“ Post messages to Facebook” is checked, then uncheck it– unless you want to be updating your personal Facebook profile with your tweets– and then make sure“ Post messages to Facebook Pages” is checked….

      Hello jackripper,

It appears that there isn’t a lot of employers using the site. A pity, really. But I will try to accommodate your request and post jobs here!
