One of the benefits of working at home as a virtual assistant is that I don’t have to commute everyday. In the same manner, I don’t have to travel to submit job applications and appear at job interviews. However, I do need to write a good cover letter and eye catching resume.
When I graduated from college back in 2003, I printed my resume in scented pink paper. That move was inspired by Elle Woods of Legally Blonde. For obvious reasons, I cannot do the same thing when I send a digital copy of my resume to prospective employers. I felt the need to dress up my resume and make it a little colorful. Here’s what I came up using a resume template I got from an online service.

I really love my resume. It highlights my skills, the different programs/applications that I can handle, and the different clients that I worked with. It makes it easier for my clients and potential employers to find out what I’ve been doing in the past few years and do which task for which client.
However, I am inclined to redesign my resume. I recently stumbled upon free online resume dictionary. This site contains some of the most eye popping resumes I have ever seen. You can take inspiration from their templates and transform your resume from boring to eye popping. Here’s one resume template that I love:
